This is the original street size St. Bernard stencil, updated with the original vision of a can of spray paint instead of a barrel of rum.
Street painting, albeit illegal in many cases, is a mental health ritual for many writers and artists. Hence, the Saint Bernard here is saving your mental health.
Additionally the dog could be seen to be saving you with a back up can when you run out of a colour midway through a piece.
And in Bristol, people would often refer to something that looks good as "safe".
Furthermore, Nana is the family St. Bernard from Peter Pan, who watches out for the children. And Peter Pan has themes of not growing up — often said of artists.
